In order to make sure that the project is robust in the current economic climate Haringey Council will hold an early market engagement meeting on the 25th of February. In particular, the meeting will gain comments and feedback from potential suppliers. For details please contact The district heating network will be supplied from a gas engine CHP located in an existing boiler house in the centre of the estate. Heat will be transferred to each residential block via buried pre-insulated pipes, with an internal network in each block taking heat to an interface unit in each dwelling. Non-residential blocks will be connected to the network via a heat exchange substation. All customer connections are to be metered, with automated meter reading connected to the central system. Haringey Council are open to a range of commercial structures, provided that the price of heat to residents is the same or lower than is currently paid. With the exception of the 200 dwellings already supplied from district heating, all residents pay market rates for their gas. A secondary driver is the carbon content of heat supplied to residents, although no specific targets have been set, the CO2 emissions from the estate must be considerably lower than at present. Annual usage profiles have been developed for each building based upon metered energy consumption data. The peak demand for the new network is in excess of 10MWth with an annual heat demand of at least 10 GWh. An indicative district heating infrastructure arrangement, showing the location of the energy centre, the buildings to be supplied and district heating network is available by contacting
